In memory of Frank Goetz.
It is with great sadness that ALU and OTR announce the passing of Frank Goetz, a longtime volunteer in both industry organizations. He died in an automobile accident on Sunday, May 9, in Tustin, California.
Frank served in many roles for the ALU – as Project Paper coordinator, Director of Curriculum, ALU President, ALU Board Treasurer, and ALU Board Chairman. He also wrote several articles for On The Risk and served as an Associate Editor for several years. He completed his ALU Board duties in June 2019.
In his career, Frank was a life underwriter for 40 years, retiring from Pacific Life in December 2020 after 24 years. Considered by most to be an expert on many fronts, he was often called on to provide input or leadership, both within Pacific Life and by colleagues throughout the life insurance industry.
He was an avid outdoorsman and walker with a daily mission to get his 10,000 steps in, a rock and roll drummer who loved to jam when an opportunity presented itself, and a wine connoisseur, collector, and tutor for those less knowledgeable but wanting to learn about good wines.
He will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Judy and two sons, Joel and Donny.
