ALU Designations and Diploma Programs
The Academy of Life Underwriting offers a series of examinations to the life insurance professional to develop their skills in life insurance risk assessment. Successful completion of the full exam series, together with a number of courses offered by the Academy's educational partners, leads a student to the Fellow, Academy of Life Underwriting (FALU) designation.
Students who have completed all requirements for an ALU Certificate or Diploma must complete and submit an Application for Certificate or Diploma form to the ALU Administration Office in order to receive their designation and diploma. In addition, this request must be received in the ALU Administration Office at least two weeks prior to a Conferment Date in order to have the certificate or diploma issued on that date.

This program contains a series of four ALU exams plus elective courses offered by the Academy's educational partners. These exams lead to the following ALU designations:
- ALU Level One Certificate
- Associate, Academy of Life Underwriting (AALU) Designation
- Fellow, Academy of Life Underwriting (FALU) Designation
The Requirements page will assist you with the necessary requirements to earn the FALU designation.
